The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the truck driving industry value the safety that results from standards in professional driver training. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Individuals who obtain a commercial learner’s permit (CLP) on or after February 7, 2022 will be required to meet the ELDT requirements.
- Individuals who obtain a CLP before February 7, 2022, are not subject to the new ELDT regulations, so long as they obtain a CDL or endorsement before their CLP (or renewed CLP) expires.
The Theory Hazmat Certification is electronically submitted to the FMCSA no later than midnight of the first business day after the driver-trainee completes the training.
